Finding Student Support Services
Instruction, IEPs & Intake Coordinator Suzanne Arrington's office can be found in the Kennard Building. Once you enter the front door, you must take the right hall. Continue down the hall, past the school psychologist Connie Morris' office. Student Support Services can be found on the left. If you pass the library, you've gone too far. Mrs. Arrington's contact information is listed on the right hand side of the Student Support Services web page. If you are unable to reach her on her business number, please feel free to leave her a message, e-mail her or call her secretary.
Please let Suzanne Arrington in the Student Support Services office know if you have not received a copy of your child's IEP. Mrs. Arrington can be reached at 706-777-2252. When you call make sure that we have your current address and phone number in case the Student Support Services office needs to contact you.
Student Led IEPs for Upcoming School Year 2011-2012
The Student Support Services office is greatly anticipating big changes in how student IEPs are led. The goal of all IEPs is to have great dialogue and participation from the student, parents, and teachers. In an effort to reach this goal the Student Support Services office decided to implement Student Led IEPs for the next school year. This transition will be slow going and will vary from student to student. However, allowing the student to lead their own IEP meetings will foster more responsibility from our students and garner ownership in their own education. The ultimate goal is to have our students prepared for life after they leave the GSD.
